Geography

This year our class is trying to learn all of the 195 countries of the world.  We are also learning about the seven largest islands of the world and will study the longest rivers too.  To learn about the countries and islands of the world we do research.  We find their size, their population, learn about their topography and recognize their flag.  We also find their national foods, their animals and their sports.  We can always make a map of a continent and its countries, or a map of a single country or a state.  We have puzzle maps to trace but Ms. Lisa loves seeing people drawing maps freehand.  I am working on a map of the U.S. where I am marking the cities that have an NFL football team.  Geography is the best subject!
