Spelling

I love passages.  Popcorn reading is my favorite part.  That is when we take turns reading our passage out loud.  Every Tuesday Ms. Chris gives us a passage and spelling words.  The passage has many words with the spelling rule of the week.  We have binders for our spelling lists and passages.  A passage is a story you read and then illustrate.  That means we draw a picture after we read the passage.

All week we do spelling activities.  My favorite is picture pages where we draw a picture of each spelling word.  We also write sentences with our words.  We can make a word search or put our words in alphabetical order.  On Fridays we take spelling tests.  Then we make bar graphs of our scores.  Spelling is the best thing in the class!
