Buddy Groups
Buddies are classmates who do projects together and who help each other. On the first day of school we met our buddies. This is how we met our buddy group members: each student got an envelope of puzzle pieces. We had to find the friends that had the pieces that fit together. Once we found our buddies, we started to do projects together. The first project we all did was birds of Florida. Each buddy group had to choose a different bird to research and do a presentation on. Some of the birds we studies were the red-bellied woodpecker, the snail kite and the wood stork.
The second project we did was to research the seven largest islands of the world. Some of the islands we studied were Honshu, New Guinea and Greenland.
We sit together with our buddies for lunch once a week. It is helpful to have buddies.
